New Zealand: Adventure Queenstown

New Zealand: Adventure Queenstown

When you think of Queenstown you think adventure activities. After all it is the adrenaline capital of the world, so it would be rude to not give it a good run for its money. Try out of the adrenaline fuelled actives, the one thing I always said I would not take part in is a bungie jump. I stayed true to my word and didn’t partake although many of my friends did. The thing is you can’t do everything so here is just a rundown of the things that I did do whilst in the little town in central Otago.

New Zealand: Mount Cook

New Zealand: Mount Cook

Mount Cook was my all time favourite place of New Zealand. We went to the most spectacular places that were stunning. This was my favourite of the lot. Over our time at Mount Cook we did two main things. The first being a heli-hike which is where I would suggest everyone does their designated heli-hike in New Zealand. The second was a hike that was one of the only hikes that we did whilst in that country that wasn’t up hill.

New Zealand: Fiorland National Park

New Zealand: Fiorland National Park

A weekend well spent in the Fiordlands National Park. New Zealands most southernly national park and one of the largest too is well know because of the famous Milford Sounds that lies only a stones through away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. Day trips are easy from Queenstown and you can either do it in a day or you can stay a night closer to town so that you don’t have such a crazy busy day. Here is all about my time seeing the eighth wonder of the world – also one of the worlds most visited tourist sites and the reasons why everyone should go if they are in New Zealand.

New Zealand: Amisfield winery

New Zealand: Amisfield winery

Amisfield winery is one of the more famous winery’s in Central Otago and for good reason. We headed there for a trust the chef lunch menu and my oh my, I could get used to dining like that more. The five course lunch set us back $95 per person with an additional $70 for the wine match. I would recommend doing the wine match as you do get your moneys worth to say the least. Was delicious too, with a range of wines so no matter what type of wine is your preferred it will be something for everyone.

New Zealand: Wanaka

New Zealand: Wanaka

Hello Wanaka!

Another lake side town in the Queenstown area. Wanaka is what I had imagined Queenstown would have looked like before it exploded with tourism. A cute little town set in a valley that is where all the kiwi’s live in the Queenstown area, as the cost of living is much less. All the lakes around the Central Otago area are stunning and Wanaka is no different.

New Zealand: Gibbson Valley Wine Tour

New Zealand: Gibbson Valley Wine Tour

Hello and welcome to my first post of the new year about what I’ve been up to since making the move to Queenstown. Once we found our home and got a job it turned into work madness, and I was working ridiculous hours over Christmas and into the new year. However the long hours were worth it for the money and I have now started to replenish my much depleted funds. Here in the new year I have been looking towards the next trip that is in the works that I am sure you will all be very excited to hear all about. It’s nothing like anything I have done before. A half holiday, half traveling around. I cannot wait. So watch this space to hear all about it…

New Zealand: A foodie in Christchurch

New Zealand: A foodie in Christchurch

So here I am living it up in Christchurch for the next three days. You will hear all about that when I finally get around to completing the post on Canterbury, but seeing as I am still on the North island posts, you will have to wait a little while longer. This however couldn’t wait as I wanted every detail of the glorious food we have found here in Christchurch to be fresh in my mind when describing our culinary experiences. I am sure you would agree with me if you ever get the chance to give it a go yourself.

New Zealand: Coromandel Peninsula

New Zealand: Coromandel Peninsula

This part of New Zealand we had heard less about so we did a drive through visit rather than a more in depth discovery of the area. You can’t do everything so perhaps I will be able to re-visit this part of the country some time. I hope so anyway! Anyway here are the things that I did manage to do on our way through this time.
